In a HEALTH CRISIS how long it takes to get to an emergency room is a matter of LIFE AND DEATH. We need a hospital with a trauma 1 emergency room to replace St Vincent's in Greenwich Village on the West Side of Manhattan. Now there is no hospital or authentic emergency room to treat over a million people who live/work on the West Side in a critical health crisis. Urgent Care, no matter how fancy, can NOT by law, treat critical health emergencies: HEART ATTACK, STROKE, child CHOKING, etc.

The rate of gentrification and the loss of rent regulated apartments in what was one called Greenwich Village and in Chelsea is frightening. Many a day I have stood in front of PENN SOUTH and tried to conjure up an affordable apt (living in a 6 floor walk up in the Village is nice ..but the knees are sending me a message) So this is GOOD NEWS, So Thank you Brad Hoylman ,,, 50 more years of affordable housing is a blessing indeed.

There will be no new hospital and the emergency services will NOT treat the most serious life and death conditions . What this Comprehensive Care center actiually is one more VERY COSTLY to the tax-payer URGENT "boo boo" Center.

DON'T BE FOOLED by FAKE HOSPITAL and Dishonest Emergency Room mailer sent out by the Rudin family/Long Island Jewish Hospital. THERE WILL BE NO NEW HOSPITAL. THERE WILL NOT BE AN EMERGENCY ROOM FOR CRITICAL MEDICAL EMERGENCIES. The expensive mailing that showed up in my mailbox three hours before the Bankruptcy Judge awarded the Rudin family at fire sale price the St Vincent's property for the development of 200-300 luxury condos, is full of LIES. There is no existing WEST SIDE COALITION FOR HEALTHCARE. The mailers made it up. Do mail it back and write in big bold letter NO . I WANT A HOSPITAL AND I NEED A TRAUMA I EMERGENCY ROOM
